Donor & Flight Requestor Privacy Policy

Personal contact information we collect and what we do with it:

When you are making a donation, requesting a flight or general information, or referring a sick or disabled child for a flight, we ask you for personal contact information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and date of birth. We will use this information to provide you with information or resources you have requested, such as information about Children’s Flight of Hope, a receipt, or a financial report, or we will use your information to contact you to clarify or verify other information, such as a donation you made, or information on a child that you have referred to us.

Additionally, sensitive information related to the child’s medical condition, physician’s contact information, family’s financial situation and verifying party, etc. is gathered on our website and used internally only to process flight requests and provide free air transportation to approved clients.

Personal information is not shared with any organization outside of Children’s Flight of Hope and our agents (reputable companies we use for services, such as mission database administration.) We have contracts to protect your privacy with all of our agents.

Personal billing information we collect and what we do with it:

In addition to personal contact information, we ask for billing information, such as your billing address and credit card number, when you make a donation. We use secure servers to gather and process your billing information. These secure servers are hosted by organizations that are in compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. Your billing information is not shared with any other organizations, and your credit card number is not retained once your transaction has been authorized and processed.

Other contact information we collect and what we do with it:

In some instances, we ask for contact information for people other than yourself – for example, phone and email of a child’s financial verifier or physician, an e-mail addresses of friends to whom you wish to send a copy of one of our pages or the mailing address of someone you wish to have us notify of a donation you have made. Such contact information is not shared with any other organization. Collecting such information for our own use is called prospecting.

With the exception of credit card numbers, which are not retained, you can request changes to all the information you have given us, including any mailing lists you may be on, by contacting us one of three ways:

Children’s Flight of Hope is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. However, any personal information obtained by us through other sites is treated as if it was gathered on our site, and our privacy policy applies.

Children:

Children’s Flight of Hope does not solicit personal information from children. Visitors under 18 years of age must obtain an adult’s permission before submitting any personal information to this site. We do not provide the ability to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information on our website. Data collected on our website complies with the  Federal Trade Commission’s ( FTC ) Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Changes to this policy:

Our privacy policy is subject to change from time to time. Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted on this web page, and we will mark the link to our privacy policy from our Internet home page to note the date of any changes, so that you will always know what information we collect online, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Breach of confidentiality & accidental breach of confidentiality

Any emails and files transmitted with them are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. If a message contains confidential information, it is intended only for the individual named. If you are not the intended recipient you are notified that disclosing, copying, distributing or taking any action in reliance on the contents of this information is strictly prohibited.
