Tyler’s Story
Childhood cancers afflict many of our families. Tyler Tucker has had bone cancer for most of his young life. It has eaten away much of his facial structure but surgeons at Johns Hopkins have rebuilt his jaw with bones from his legs, enabling him to eat and drink normally albeit at the price of painful, repetitive surgeries. We enable him to travel with his younger brother, his mother, and his grandparents, keeping the family together for what can be extended stays at the hospital for recovery. As he grows, we will be there for him and his family, as his surgeons, work to prevent reoccurrence of his cancer and give him a normal life.
